About The Green Deal

Who We Are and What We Do

The Green Deal is a small family-owned business located and operated in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Our goal is to bring nutrition to the table of every household in the form of fresh, vitamin-rich microgreens.

We started growing our tiny veggies throughout 2021 as a way to improve our own eating habits after noticing poor eating behaviors brought on during the Covid epidemic. Since then, we decided to upscale our operation so that we could share our experience with the world!

Come and visit us in person at one of our events to experience The Green Deal for yourself!

Why Microgreens?

What are the Benefits?

You may be browsing through our website because fate brought you here or perhaps you were brought here by an ad. Hopefully, you were referred to us by a friend. Either way, the 'how' doesn’t matter, because you’re here now! Welcome to The Green Deal! Now that you’re here, I’m about to tell you WHY you’re here.

You are discovering a whole new cheat in how you eat. Veggies are great! They’re yummy, they’re healthy, but they are also difficult to fit into our everyday diet. At the end of this article, there will be several links for you to explore from outside sources detailing the health benefits of microgreens so that you don’t have to take the word of the people trying to sell them to you, but I’m going to simplify it anyway.

Microgreens are the tiny version of full-grown vegetables. Take broccoli, for instance. You plant the seed and before you know it, a tiny plant pops up. Let that plant grow for a week or two, and you’ve got a microgreen! That’s what we do but on a larger scale. We raise our arugula babies with care. We nurture romaine seeds until ripe for the picking. Kale, radish, mustard, we do it all! We’re always adding to our menu because the options are virtually endless. Some greens can take more work, space, and love than others, which is why you may see the occasional price difference, but we aim for our microgreens to be a viable, cost-effective option for everyone to afford.

Now here’s the big part! You may be wondering, “Why would I want to eat a partially-formed piece of vegetable?” The reason is because microgreens contain all of the nutrients of their full-sized counterparts but at a much higher concentration. The concentration of nutrients varies from plant to plant, of course, with radish and broccoli microgreens topping the charts at a whopping forty times the concentration of an actual broccoli tree or radish root. Yeah, you read that right. FORTY TIMES! IN A TINY, ITTY BITTY PLANT THAT CAN BE EATEN IN A SINGLE BITE! And it doesn’t even taste bad! (And yes, I said “broccoli tree”).

So, let me tell you exactly what “up to forty times the nutrition” means, because that's definitely a broad term... one that sounds great, but doesn’t really tell you what you’re eating. What we’re talking about is zinc, vitamins A, C, and K, antioxidants, manganese, folates, and FLAVOR! (I know flavor isn’t really a nutrient, but the rest of it doesn’t really matter if you can’t get yourself to eat it in the first place, does it?).

What I’m trying to say is there are so many reasons to add these amazing greens to your diet with no reasons not to. And lucky for you, we make it easy! Message, call, text, or meet me at the market for free samples! Make sure to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up to date on harvest dates, market dates, and new products!

Can’t wait to see you there!

Our sources include a webMD article that DOESN’T claim you’ll die! The complete opposite actually! So that should be encouraging!
